Knapp's Castle

Knapp's Castle is a mansion in the San Ynez Mountains near Santa Barbara. It was destroyed by a forest fire and now only the sandstone foundations, fireplace pillars and walls remain. A few weeks ago, Garrett and I woke up at the wonderful hour of 4:30 am. We drove to the San Ynez Mountains and hiked a short way to the sandstone ruins. As tired as we were, it was totally worth losing those few hours of sleep to watch the sun rise and the clouds stir beneath us. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place!
